I am Hans Clarin Mustad, living in Norway. I am since childhood a very close friend of your friend Rolf Kroll. Rolf and Lizzie invited me for a long sail around the caribbean onboard his boat IREX followed by a 10-day stay at their beautiful home in Port of Spain in the spring of 2012.
During that time I had the immense pleasure of getting to know your beautiful parents. I also had the pleasure of meeting your very good looking (!!) sister Trudy and her husband. Trudy was going to bear a child afew days later.
I am so sad to learn of your father’s fatal accident and tragic final. During the short two weeks I spent at Rolf and Lizzie’s I was so lucky to spend quite some time with your parents, in their fantastic home and at many of their friends’ places. And your father, Jimbo, what a beautiful, warm and loving person. I have never ever during my entire life met any person like him. His friendliness, his sense of humour, his emanating warmth and his smiling eyes. His knowledge, his life experience, his openness. And what he managed to create and make with his own hands – absolutely no limits, and all to complete perfection. One afternoon he showed me around the house and all what he had made, the whole mansion, the large wrought iron ceiling lamp in the living room and all the other wrought iron things, the cannons etc. etc., I can’t list it all. He even made me the honour of letting me into his workshop and showed me, and fired up, his selfmade mini steam engine. All extremely impressive. And he could not hide his emotion and pride about it all, in his beautiful way of being.
I came to really love your father – he was like the early ray of morning sunshine, emitting warmth and friendliness and everything good to all people who were so fortunate to meet him, and some to get to know him. A totally unique person, and today a great loss for everyone.
Jimbo is most probably, at this very moment, sitting on a cloud, somewhere very near, with his always beautiful and inviting smile, looking down at all of us and being with us in heart and soul. And a little bit sorry he can not join you all in Saturday’s great cooler lime at his Castle, the Craig family home.
My sincere condolences to Kareen, Trudy, Tracy and families.
