My dad, Jim, was involved in a head on collision on November 26, 2013, he suffered a broken neck and has since endured; the installation of a device called a Halo – which despite its name offers no saintly associations, unless there is a patron saint of screwing metal rods into ones skull – two separate surgeries to install titanium plates in his neck and now a current, and we hope temporary, condition of being paralyzed from the elbows down. This is a blog to map his, and our family journey, though the tidal wave of change and emotional ups and downs we have been riding.
My name is Tracy and I write words and drink wine to add a softer glow to the harsher edges of life. In these words I make a reasonably consistent amount of fun of my older sister, Trudy and marvel daily at my mum’s strength and unending supply of faith fuelled energy.
Thanks for reading and the loving support our family has received is a true testament to what an amazing man my dad is. He is a total jackass and we adore him.
This blog is brilliant, we are all glad the op went well, thinking of you all and send our love x x
